February 11 is 2-1-1 Day! This year, we want to spread the word about Mass 2-1-1 and how it can help you, and your friends and neighbors.
This free, confidential hotline is available 24/7. For the millions of Americans needing help every day – from locating financial assistance, to finding quality child care and health care, mental health services, fuel assistance, food pantries, and more – 2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember phone number answered by professionals who will connect those in need to essential community resources.
Today, 2-1-1 covers 81% of the USA and 30% of Canada, and helps millions of people every year in multiple languages.
2-1-1 is also a great resource when natural disasters such as snow storms hit. The hotline can provide important information about emergency preparedness, and where to go for help if a disaster has affected you.
In central Massachusetts alone, more than 300 people each month call 2-1-1 to receive valuable assistance and referrals from trained operators. In the past 12 months, 4,213 calls to 2-1-1 were made in our community.
