WCCA TV Special Presentations

WCCA TV had a Candidate Open Mic Night on October 23, 2017. All City Council and School Committee Candidates were welcome to speak about what they stand for and the issues that mean the most to them in our city. We thank Krystian King, Mayor Joe Petty, John Monfredo, Dante Comparetto, Brian O’Connell, Donna Colorio, Sarai Rivera, Dianna Biancheria and George Russell for taking part in the Candidate Open Mic event which was hosted by the WCCA TV Executive Director, Mauro DePasquale.

Joseph Townsend of WCCA TV recently interviewed Dan Gabel , Bandleader of The Vaughn Monroe Show. After a performance in Worcester on October 15, they will be playing in Somerville on November 10 and Stoughton on November 11, 2017. The Vaughn Monroe Show transports audiences back in time to 1949. Vaughn Wilton Monroe was an American baritone singer, trumpeter, big band leader and actor, most popular in the 1940’s and 50’s. He lived in Newton, Mass.

WCCA TV recorded A Livable Worcester Candidate Forum on October 16, 2017, at Preservation Worcester. A Livable Worcester is a coalition of local organizations focused on planning, preservation and conservation issues in Worcester. Exclusively on WCCA TV, now seen on Cable Channel 194!

Worcester State University’s TV series The Beat is produced by the Center for Community Media at WSU. Episodes will feature such topics as World Smile Day, Civic Engagement, and more. Watch the series every Sunday night at 7:30 pm on WCCA TV, Channel 194 in Worcester, also streaming live online at that day and time at wccatv.com. WCCA TV invites all local colleges who produce TV shows on their campus, to submit them to our channel for airing. Contact Tracy Foley at tracy@wccav.org for more information.

WCCA TV Program Notes

  • Tune into new episodes of Soapbox in November, hosted by our Executive Director, Mauro DePasquale. New episodes will feature the Daughters of the American Revolution, Westborough Players’ Club, Kim Kerrigan, President of Corporate Classrooms, and artist Frank Poor, who has an exhibit until December at Anna Maria College. Soapbox can be seen on WCCA TV 194 in Worcester, as well as streaming live online, on Wednesdays at 8:30 PM, Saturdays at 10:30 PM and Sundays at 6:30 PM. Soapbox has recorded over 1,125 programs and you can view them on demand at wccatv.com. To be our guest, email Tracy Foley at tracy@wccatv.org. We record the last Monday of every month.
  • Beacon Hill Chat is a program with interesting people talking about the interesting things going on in Central Massachusetts. Host of the program, State Senator Harriette Chandler, welcomes Patrick Sargent, the founder of This Week In Worcester.
  • Want to know about drug use/abuse and its treatment in the city of Worcester? Then tune into this new epoisode of Rosen’s Round Table and see what host Gary Rosen and his panel members have to say. In another episode, the guys talk about traffic safety in Worcester. The City Manager has created a report about traffic safety in the city and what can be done in the future.
  • Time for a coffee break and another episode of Coffee With Konnie. Host of the program, City Councilor Konnie Lukes, has coffee with Chantel Bethea. In another episode, Konnie has coffee with Erin Jansky. They chat about the Young Professional Women’s Association.
  • Exposure With Mosher is a WCCA TV program that spotlights entrepreneurs, innovators, and good news. Show host Amy Mosher Berry welcomes to the show Shahbaz Soofi, Yaovi Tsomana, and Valentine Beluchukwo, representatives for WooRides.
  • Know Your Rights is a show to inform viewers of their civil rights, hosted by Ron Madnick. In this episode, Ron talks about Right To Pray With Students. Watch WCCA TV to learn about your rights!
  • Close To Home is a show about people and situations that demonstrate deep respect for mankind, hosted by Molly Finn. Molly welcomes Michael Earielo to the show to talk about the Everyday Miracles Program in Worcester.
  • In The House is a WCCA TV program that helps viewers learn the ins and outs of real estate, home buying and other housing issues. Host George Russell welcomes State Rep Dan Donahue to the show.
  • Activate Worcester, hosted by Ron Motta, is a WCCA-TV produced program that shows viewers how to participate and become active in Worcester. Ron welcomes the People’s Councilor, Michael
    Gaffney, and his wife Coreen back to the show. Mike and Coreen talk about their recent announcement not to run for City Council as well as Worcester political topics.
  • Connecting The Dots is a non-traditional legal program with the emphasis on the attorney as a trusted advisor, with an interdisciplinary approach to solving life’s issues. Host of the program, Attorney Liz Myska, welcomes Imrana Soofi, the Executive Director of the Muslim Community Link.
  • This Is Worcester is a WCCA TV program, hosted and produced by community activist Bill Coleman. The program focuses on interesting Worcester facts. In this episode, Bill talks about faith in Worcester.
  • Tune into Hidden Treasures as host Bill Safer helps you learn how to find that hidden antique or
    collectible that just may add cash to your life. Today’s hidden treasure is Bill’s guest Brittany Miller Legasey. Brittany is the President of the Board of Directors of Park Spirit in Worcester.
  • Ben Behind The Scenes is a WCCA TV program that showcases music videos, interviews, reviews, and short films. The show is produced and hosted by Ben Alotey, one of WCCA TV’s longest active producers. Tune into another episode of pure entertainment.
  • Video Jam is your source for eclectic music videos. Your favorite host, Tracy Foley, has been presenting mainstream and indie rock for more than 10 years on cable TV public access stations.   • Senior Speak is a program by WCCA TV in collaboration with the Worcester Senior Center. Senior issues are discussed and a good time is had by all. Senior Speak is recorded at the Worcester Senior Center, located at 128 Providence St., on Tuesdays at 2 PM. Stop by and be a part of the show!

Since 1986, WCCA TV has always bee a creative space and a place that has engaged people of all backgrounds in bringing the city to life through creative expression of story telling, engaging community television talk programming, music, dance, television journalism, dramatic arts and film/video making, public art and multi media works, and to exercise free speech. It’s a space for everyone to get engaged in the arts in an active way.
A diversity of thousands of people attended WCCA educational class and workshops, participated in content creation, our public events, and our programs are seen in Worcester and around the world on line.
