A Message for All WCCA TV Community Producers, Volunteers, Students, Interns, Board Members, Financial Contributors, and Staff.

Dear Supporter of WCCA TV,

This year, I have the honor of being selected the “Outstanding Italian” recipient of 2017 which results in my being the Grand Marshal of the Annual Columbus Day Parade in Worcester, but that is not why I’m writing you today.  I’m writing you, because WCCA TV will have WCCA TV members marching in the parade this year, and I’d like to invite you to march with us to celebrate WCCA TV.

This will be a great opportunity to further connect with the community of Worcester and promote the programs and services of WCCA TV while showing the many people that make-up WCCA TV including community producers, volunteers, students, interns, board members, financial contributors, and staff.

As you know, WCCA TV provides access to resources and offers a genuine free speech medium.  People of all backgrounds, perspectives, and abilities have not only access to community media technology and training resources that would be unattainable without WCCA TV, but they are offered a place where they can express their views, talents, and ideas without restraint.  This creates a space for real freedom.  Telling someone that they have freedom to express themselves while denying them the resources to do so, is not real freedom.   Instead, WCCA TV helps provide real freedom of expression through the use of television and state-of-the art communications media technology to EVERYONE in the Worcester Community.

Marching in the parade with WCCA TV is free to members, and I think it will be  a lot of fun for all of us to march together!!

If you would like to join us in this years parade on October 8, 2017, please contact Joseph at or call us at 508-755-1880.

With Much Appreciation,

Mauro DePasquale

Executive Director, WCCA TV

Recently WCCA TV attended the Urban Planning With The People by Dr. Tom Conroy at the Worcester Public Library. He is the Chair and Associate Professor of Urban Studies at the Worcester State University. An urban historian by training with a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, both his scholarly work and community-engaged scholarship focus on the idea of urban exclusion historically and contemporarily. He has recently co-authored “In Search of Opportunity: Latino Men’s Path to Post-Secondary Education in Urban Massachusetts” and is a co-creator of the CitySpeak Initiative, a research and arts-based approach to urban planning and community development. The interactive presentation and discussion explores ways that cities, such as Worcester, can include citizens in early stages and throughout the Urban Planning process.
