Burncoat Baptist Church will hold a Community Ice Cream Social at 475 Burncoat Street in Worcester on Friday, June 22 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Root beer floats cost $1.50 each, ice cream sodas $1.50 each, and ice cream sundaes with lots of your favorite toppings, $2.00 each. Children's sizes are available. The Muscular Dystrophy Association & the Bank of America Championship will host the Stride and Ride walk-a-thon, which will take place this year during the final round of the PGA TOUR’s Champions Tour event at Nashawtuc Country Club in Concord on Sunday, June 24. All proceeds benefit MDA’s fight against neuromuscular diseases. Walkers will be able to watch their favorite Champions Tour players, such as Tom Kite, Craig Stadler and Tom Watson, while walking the 4.3 mile route along Nashawtuc’s beautiful 18 holes. Candidates must be over the age of 21, physically and mentally adept, able to adjust easily to new environments, and above all else, have a gung ho nature and do anything to win attitude. Those who are chosen to participate will travel to all seven continents and face mental and physical challenges over the course of 100 days.
