The Blackstone Canal opened Worcester to the sea. Buried beneath Harding Street, the Canal invites you to explore its past and glimpse its future at CanalFest, where tasty food, wonderful music and historical presentations will swirl around a water-filled Canal replica 75 feet long.
A good old fashioned street festival with fun kids activities, food, great entertainment, vendors, arts, crafts, magicians, face painting, raffles...but in the heart of it will be a reconstruction of the segment of the blackstone canal 75 feet long with 4,500 gallons of water reminiscent of the old fashioned days when the canal connected Worcester County to Providence.

Local Artist captures the Characters of Tatnuck
People of Tatnuck will be featured in a one-woman art exhibit Opening September 17th at Framed in Tatnuck, 1099 Pleasant Street in Tatnuck Square.
The Opening Artist Reception will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, September 17th!
The exhibit will be open 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Tuesday through Friday and 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Saturday of that week.
Elisabeth Donker, a Tatnuck artist, has undertaken to capture with painted portraits many of the people who help make this Worcester neighborhood so closely knit.
Elisabeth’s artistic motivation is neither recognition nor profit, but rather to present a colorful record of the people and merchants that make the neighborhood such a pleasant place to live and shop.
Elisabeth embarked on this ambitious project in March of 2007 and has since then produced more than 30 paintings of people and places in Tatnuck.
This exhibit is meant as a contribution to the spirit that makes the neighborhood the place it is today, with its variety of shops, services and the personalities that own or operate them.
Among the portrayed people are the hairdresser, the jeweler, the local UPS driver and the mailman. You’ll also see the man from the postal center, the meat market and the seafood shop. Come visit and see if you can find your favorite character!
With the closing of the exhibit the artist will joyfully donate the portraits to the subjects.
To see the Exhibit in September come visit us at Framed in Tatnuck!
