Westboro Tennis and Swim Club Sponsors Open House and Wellness Expo Saturday January 12, 2008 From 9am-1pm

This day only, attendees are eligible for membership specials, discounts on club programming, vendor specials, and WTSC Triathlon Team sponsorship specials.

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.- January 3, 2008- Westboro Tennis and Swim Club is hosting their third annual Local Business Health and Wellness Expo, Saturday, January 12, 2008 from 9am-1pm.

The expo is a public event geared towards members of the local community who are looking to alter their lifestyle into a healthier one for the New Year. Over the past twenty years, obesity has drastically increased. Presently sixty-four percent of Americans are overweight or obese (ref: Obese Society, www.naaso.org). The interest in such a community event has been fantastic. Last year thousands of local residents came to the health fair to learn more about how they can lead a healthier and happier lifestyle for themselves and their families.

Over thirty local vendors are attending the expo this year and are offering giveaways, such as food and drink samples, acupuncture screenings, mortgage consulting, cholesterol and blood pressure screenings, body fat analysis, chair massage, arts and crafts for children and much more. Additionally, Westboro Tennis and Swim Club is offering no initiation fee and the rest of the month free on new memberships and discounts on swim, tennis, fitness, camp, and children’s programs. Guests at the event may also enter a raffle to win a free one year membership! In addition, 104.5 WXLO is joining the club for the expo this year, between the hours of 10am-12pm, during which time they will be live on air, with music and giveaways.

“The expo gives members and non-members the chance to meet our therapists and hopefully make a connection that, should the need arise, will remind them of South County’s services in the future,” said Eric Cardin, Physical Therapist, Director of South County Physical Therapy, and third year expo participant. “I expect a great turnout. I look forward to the opportunity to meet the active members of our community.”

In correlation with the expo, Westboro Tennis and Swim Club is launching its third season of their Triathlon Program. New to the program this year are various choices for participation for beginner to advanced athlete. All athletes will train with coaches certified by USA triathlon, USA Swimming, and USA Cycling.

In addition, the WTSC Triathlon Team will be sponsored by 7 local businesses under WTSC Triathlon Team’s newly developed Elite and Premier sponsorship program. The Elite sponsors are Franks Bicycle Barn, PR Running, Simple Home, and South County Physical Therapy all of Westboro, and StoneGate Properties of Marlboro. The Premier sponsors include BodyFat Testing and Curry Printing.
