Charter loses 14,000 customers email messages
Submitted by mauro on January 23, 2008 - 12:59pm.
A letter from Charter to customers whose email, all messages new&old, was deleted. Charter is at fault. 14,000 Charter customers were effected.
"For affected customers, we are unable to recover the lost content."
Just in case any one is keeping tabs.

Aren't paying customers important?
"we are unable to recover the lost content"
I guess Charter doesn't do backups of customer files. Aren't PAYING customers, and their email, important to Charter?
Bad new for the Data Center...
Someone(s) head will roll at Charter for this. Data management and recovery are the cornerstones of any disaster recovery plan for a company that offers communication services. It is really an embarrassment to the company and their number one share owner - a former Microsoft founder (name withheld).
You can bet that if Hillary Clinton's daughter or one of the Bush daughters lost all their personal email and pictures this matter would have warranted something other than a $50 token offer... Imagine people who use their service and hosting to support there own businesses - bad news for Charter.
Where is City Hall on this?
Doesn't the city have a "Cable Division" that should be on top of cable and telecommunication matters? It doesn't seem like they are doing much of anything, except for skirting the issue. What are they doing to monitor Charter compliance and enforcing it? Are they doing anything to address the local needs of cable and Internet customers and also the public access channel 13? Where is city hall when it comes to things that matter to the people? I appears like the city just accepts Charter's word on everything. Pretty negligent in my opinion. I see they are dragging their feet with the cable franchise. I moved to NYC where I find it is so much more refreshing when it comes to this kind of stuff. Get it together Worcester. Show some leadership.
Disappearing emails Feb 2,2008
My emails disappeared this past Saturday, 2/2/08. Am wondering if anyone else has experienced this. They were there in the morning and gone by the afternoon. Of course, Charter is denying that they had anything to do with this. Yes, I am starting to shop around for alternatives.
just happened to me
just happened to me today,021508, just the inbox, all my important email were in folder. just downloaded them to outlook and put em in an archive.
You gotta be kidding me
I dont know if this happened to anyone else but, on top of losing everything in my inbox Charter lost all of my files and contacts......$50 is a pretty piss poor appology if you ask me. :P
