PLEASE PUBLISH IMMEDIATELY:

On Wednesday, March 28, 2007, at Quinsigamond Community College from 6-8 pm, the Worcester Public Schools is hosting an Advanced Placement Family Awareness evening for students in grades 6, 7 and 8 and their families to discuss the importance of taking rigorous classes in middle school to better prepare them for AP courses in high school as well as college courses. We are estimating 300 people will attend this event.

The purpose of the Advanced Placement Family Awareness Event is to provide students and their families with information at an early age in order for them to make appropriate educational choices. To that end, this interactive family event is designed to raise awareness of the Advanced Placement Program offered in the Worcester Public Schools.

James A. Caradonio, Superintendent of the Worcester Public Schools and Robert Layne, Director of Outreach Programs and Worcester Pipeline collaborative Coordinator will be speaking at this event. A Worcester Public Schools AP student will share the student perspective.

If this communication should go to someone else, we would appreciate you forwarding it to that person.

If you would like additional information, please contact us.
