Below are some of the letters to newspapers and politicians in support of WCCA TV13 that have come to our attention in recent weeks. Thanks for supporting WCCA!

Dear Editor:

WCCA TV is so valued from my perspective, from shows like Worcester here and Now with Sibyl Farson, and Video Jams with Tracy Foley, that I just want to extend my appreciation to the City of Worcester and Charter for their part in keeping alive local, informative, entertaining interests in our wonderful assets here in Worcester. Please do all you an to keep WCCA TV on the air, as it is like having a wonderful neighbor at your door.

Sincerely,
Ameena Jabbour

I am writing in support of WCCA TV. WCCA provides valuable programming to the residents of Worcester and beyond due to the online webstream. Local *commercial* channels don't provide nearly as much local material as they once did. Public access has become even more important in light of this fact. We must support WCCA!

Sincerely,
Danielle Gelehrter

Dear Public Safety & Transportation Board Members:
I have been a volunteer with Worcester’s Public Access Station, WCCA TV13
for over 7 years. During that time, WCCA TV13 has afforded me the
opportunity to expand my production skills, produce local programming, and
enhance my knowledge of the city I love, Worcester. It is my hope that you
will find the same value in these services when you see the finish
programming, visit the studio, or talk with viewers and other public access
users.

Public Access has the ability to help numerous students, community leaders,
and not-for-profit’s reach within the community. WCCA TV 13 offers
opportunities for people to connect within the community while supporting
open and unrestricted access for the general public in the medium of
broadcasting.

As you look towards the future, PEG access should be part of the city’s
growth and change and the continued funding of Worcester’s PEG channels
should be seen as an enhancement for both the community and the city’s
public access and public relations needs.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth Ramona Pokoly

I would like to convey my appreciation for all the important and varied
programs that WCCA TV-13 produces. TV-13 maintains high standards and its programs enlighten its viewers of the cultural richness of our community and for this I am grateful.

I think that we in Worcester ought to be very grateful to the dedicated workers at WCCA-TV for their coverage of local topics and events. Not only that...I have also found them very responsive to suggestions from their viewers. One thing I am especially thankful for is their Monday through Friday offering of Amy Goodman's "Democracy NOW!" news program. I watch it religiously every morning in order to find out exactly what is really happening on the political and societal front.

Regards,
Bill Tower

Dear Editor:
Funding for WCCA-TV Channel 13 is of vital importance to the community areas in which WCCA-TV Channel 13 is aired and for the people who give of their personal time and professional effort to produce their respective quality programs for the education and entertainment of its viewers. The diverse
programs, produced by area professional people fill a critical need in the
community. To even have the slightest notion of cutting WCCA-TV's budget by
any amount is unreasonable especially due to the fact that WCCA-TV has, for
decades!, produced the highest quality community programming! A cut in the
public access budget of WCCA-TV funding would be a serious mistake to the
community area it services. The management of WCCA-TV Channel 13 has been and presently is exemplary in its service, charter and mission to continue operating. The need for continuous ample monetary support, with no cut in WCCA-TV Channel 13 budget, is of importance and is highly recommended!

Respectfully submitted,

Mary & Bill Pauplis

WCCA TV / Public Access is a highly visible platform serving our entire community as it facilitates public access to empowering media resources, cable and web channel distribution. The money that funds WCCA TV is not derived from tax or city money. Federal law, through an act of Congress, prescribes a formula by which funding provisions, earmarked for Public Access, is based upon a fixed percentage of the cable company's annual gross profits. That money is specifically intended to provide the community with public cable access, and not for any other purpose.

The city's recent community needs assessment process, which, by Federal law, had to be completed before signing the franchise agreement with Charter Communications included numerous reports, including the Cable Advisory and Public Service and Transportation Committees, Riedel Communications, and others, which have ALL demonstrated a community need calling for support and continued growth of WCCA TV Public Access.

WCCA TV provides and facilitates an affordable means of outreach and also the public access to media resources that are currently well serves many neighborhood groups, non-profits, small businesses, cultural groups, and a diversity of individuals, as they participate in meaningful sharing of a free flow of information and ideas, representing a return value worth millions of dollars back to Worcester every year.

WCCA TV's community members, volunteers, community producers and program presenters, Board of Directors, staff, and "fans" appreciate the hundreds of letters, signed petitions, postcards, and phone calls expressing support by urging the city to ensure assurances for our continued growth. The people and organizations who support WCCA are those who agree with the vision of a participatory media, community media, individual points of view, a diversity of ideas,a free flow of information, and a democratic media that is by, for, and of the people. We are blessed and honored to be in your thoughts. Thanks for your support. We must keep up the worthwhile and good fight to perserve public access WCCA TV.
