Many are glad to see the City Council's "Symbolic Move"

I understand many people were happy to hear the shouts of city council members order to "file" the report.

The subject of WCCA TV funding and pending contract is a subject that matters to a great many. Jeff the Taxi Guy shares a very clear sentiment.

Thanks for your support and attention.

Why didn't the research bureau include the Green Hill Golf Course on its hit list?
From a January story about the golf course in the Telegram

"It is expected to cost about $3 million to implement the plan over several years. City officials hope to pay for those improvements with anticipated revenue generated by the golf course. "

Why do city officials as well as the research bureau think it's ok to spend $3 million without knowing how long it'll take to recover that money? And once that money is recovered how much will it cost the city for the upkeep of the course?

Wormtown Taxi's perspective: Outright-thievery ?

We have every hope that that the city will do the right thing when it comes to WCCA TV's future and funding needs. However it is because no one seems know a word about what is going on or why the city has not communicated, one way or another, what it's intent is, that it is understandable why so many WCCA TV supporters are concerned. We are informed that the City Manager wants his Cable Advisory Committee to re-new review of community needs. Public due process is proper and WCCA agrees and welcomes the opportunity, and has even invited to meet with the city to move forward on this based on the four years of public process and assessment. However, the question on everyone's mind is why, after nearly fours years of assessment and community ascertainment process, is it that WCCA (or even some city councilors, as we are told) has no sense of a time line to see assurances which will provide for the continuity of our operations beyond June? In light of the fact that WCCA's life line funding depends upon the city's franchise provisions, and is currently serving without a contract with the city, and the remaining vestige of operational funds may not last beyond mid summer, WCCA, the general public, and its members, have a responsibility to call attention to the vacuum that appears to surrounds the matter of the city's commitment to the stations future. Sure, we can understand why people are getting angry especially in the face of other actions taken by the city recently. Would you agree that Wormtown taxi may be a great example of community perception?
