The Voice of Heard/The Two Sides on the Issue of Marijuana and its Use

I'm sure you are already aware of this: marijuana use is addictive and bad for your health, both your mind and your body.  The latest news is that teen depression is worsened through marijuana use, according to the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy.  "The short message is marijuana is not safe and it's not a solution for depression," said John P. Walters, director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy.

But there is also another side of the issue.  There are some policy groups on the other side who beleive the report to be misleading.  While we agree that kids shouldn't be smoking marijuana, we have to be honest to teens and parents by giving them accurate information, not exaggerated scare stories, says Bruce Mirken, director of communications at The Marijuana Project, a Washington-based group that aims to remove criminal penalties for marijuana use and make medical marijuana available to seriously ill patients with a doctor's approval.

I am not seeking to promote marijuana use, but if you have one different stand or the other, here are a few websites to check out so you'll get to know both sides of the issue:

All I have to say is this: let's repect the views of both sides of the marijuana issue and make a compromise that will get everyone's approval!
