A faster, better "Democracy"
Submitted by wccatv on November 28, 2006 - 12:04pm.
The Worcester-based, non-profit Participatory Culture Foundation has released a new, faster, better version of their free Democracy Media Player.
You can use Democracy to search for video, and "subscribe" to regularly-updated shows, as well as watch the video.
This is only version 0.9.2; it won't be "official" until version 1.0.
Once you've installed Democracy, click here and Democracy will maintain an updated list of WCCA shows available for download.
Click here and Democracy will download a high-quality, full-length, legal version of the documentary The Corporation. (more info)
On a recent podcast, Merlin Mann explained how you can use Democracy to snag the latest videos about a particular topic on YouTube and similar services. (His explanation starts at around 10:19.)
So you don't have to spend every night of the rest of your life looking for new Hüsker Dü videos, like me.
