All New Soapbox Episodes in May

There will be all new episodes of Soapbox with host, Mauro DePasquale, the month of May. Guests will include Mayor Joe O'Brien (pictured), Edwin Cancel of Senior Whole Health, Gus Giannakis and Bill Vasiliadis of  the Grecian Festival, Stephen O'Neil of the WRTA, Hope Lodge representatives and Chris Nelson of Worcester County Fathers and Family Network. Ghana's Ambassador Visits WCCA TV 13

WCCA TV producer, Kenny Asafo Adjei, brought Ghana's Ambassador to the US, H.E. Daniel Ohene Agyekum to WCCA TV 13 today to meet Executive Director, Mauro DePasquale and the WCCA TV staff.  Ambassador Daniel Ohene Agyekum's visit to Worcester, Mass. was taped and will be aired on a  "Sing Along Special" on WCCA TV 13  soon.

 

Mayor Joe O'Brien Premieres on Soapbox March 3 at 8:30PM

Mayor Joe O'Brien joins host, Mauro DePasquale, on Soapbox the first week of every month on WCCA TV.   On his first guest appearance, Mayor O'Brien discusses the Worcester public school budget and the CSX expansion on Wednesday, March 3rd at 8:30pm, Thursday, March 4th at 1:00pm, Saturday, March 6th at 10:30pm and Sunday, March 7th at 6:30pm.

Mayor Joe O'Brien to be Monthly Guest on Soapbox

As we have done with former mayors, Ray Mariano, Tim Murray and Konnie Lukes, the WCCA TV original series, Soapbox, hosted by Mauro DePasquale, will now feature monthly guest appearances by Mayor Joe O'Brien. Our first taping will be Feb. 22 and the show will air in March.  Thank you to the Mayor and to the Mayor's office for their assistance. Soapbox can be seen on WCCA TV and streaming on the web on Wednesdays at 8:30pm, Thursdays at 1pm, Saturdays at 10:30pm and Sundays at 6:30pm.

This Monday, WCCA will be in production for a number of Soapbox episodes. One of these episodes will include guest from the Worcester’s Division of Public Health, Dr. Morse and Mr. Brindisi.

September is Infant Mortality Awarenss Month

The month of September is infant mortality awareness month, as determined by the U.S. Congress. Healthy Start programs nationwide are collaborating with community agencies and stakeholders to create awareness and educate the community about the high infant deaths in our community and how to reduce the rates.   Worcester, Mass. has an infant mortality rate that is one of the highest in the state.  G. Mike Portuphy, MPH, CHES, Program Director of  Worcester Healthy Start Initiative, will be a guest on WCCA TV's local orignated series, "Soapbox" with host, Mauro DePasquale, to discuss infant mortality, on Wed., Aug. 26 at 8:30pm, Thur., Aug 27 at 1:00pm, Sat., Aug. 29 at 10:30pm
