New Hope Diner Project - Vintage Diner History Lecture and Tour

New Hope Diner Project - Vintage Diner Lecture and Tour of the Blackstone Valley Massachusetts/Rhode Island. The lecture will outline the great history of the American Diner that all began in Providence, Rhode Island & Worcester, Massachusetts the early diner manufacturing capital. Saturday August 16th 2008 from 9:30AM-5:00PM from the Worcester Public Library. Call 508-853-6357 to make reservations by August 5th.

Proceeds from the tour will benefit the New Hope Diner Project, a collaborative effort to provide job training and education to the youth of Rhode Island and Rhode Island Division of Juvenile Correctional Services, through the restoration and operation of vintage diners.

Horizons for Homeless Children is seeking fun-loving, dependable people to interact and play with children living in family homeless shelters and domestic violence shelters throughout Central Massachusetts. A commitment of 2 hours a week is required for at least 6 months. Day and evening hours are available. Trainings are held regularly and are listed on our website. Our next training in Worcester is scheduled for Saturday, September 22nd (9:30-4:30).
