The Columbus Day Parade Committee held their annual dinner, honoring the Grand Marshall of the parade, on Sept. 16, 2017 at the Franklin Manor. The Grand Marshall this year is Mauro DePasquale, Executive Director of WCCA TV. Speakers at the event included Tommy Colletta, as Emcee, Judy Verdini, Parade Committe Chair, Jane Pastore of the Mt. Carmel Preservation Society, Mary Pauplis, host of Cooking Adventures with Mary on WCCA TV, Bill Safer, host of Hidden Treasures on WCCA TV, School Committee member, John Monfredo, former City Councillor Michael Perotto, and Joey DePasquale, Mauro's younger brother. Mauro also received the key to the city from Mayor Joseph Petty with Councillor, Kate Toomey, along with certificates of recognition from Congressman James McGovern and State Representative, Dan Donahue. The music was provided by Jazzed Up with Pamela Hines on piano and singer, Rene Legendre.
