When he and his wife found out about a nearby Wal-Mart coming to town, they formed a citizen's group called Our Lancaster First to encourage Smart Growth development as a better alternative to big-box retail. "Worcester's Best Chef" Culinary Event / Fundraiser

As seen this week on "What It's Worth", Worcester’s Best Chef is a culinary competition taking place at the historic Union Station on Sunday, January 28, 2007, from 4 – 10 p.m featuring food sampling for all attendees by 25+ Restaurants!
A portion of the proceeds will go to Massachusetts Veterans, Inc. to benefit the Massachusetts Veterans Shelter's food service program, servicing homeless and impoverished veterans.
Cost to attend the event is $50. Please register online or by calling 508 616 9190. Your name will be on a guest list at the door. You can also purchase tickets in person at Worcester Magazine (172 Shrewsbury Street), Rovezzi’s Restaurants (Worcester, Sturbridge, Rutland), Castellana’s Fine Italian Ristorante, or Viva Bene Ristorante.
