March 27, 2013 AM CABLE OUTAGE : UPDATED

UPDATED:
Problem fixed. Charter’s tech crew reported that a huge pile of snow melted over the cable vault where our node was located near City Hall. Once the City removed the snow and ice, the Tech went in to work their magic. By about 11:30 the channel seems to be running again. We commend the City and Charter’s Techs for their efforts in taking care of the problem.
Thank you everyone for your patience. TV 13 public access is thriving.

Please note that there has been a cable outage at downtown Worcester. People may see only a freeze frame if they are watching TV 13. For some reason it’s seems to be only WCCA TV 13, “The People’s Channel” that is frozen.
WCCA TV’s equipment appears to working fine here on site, we have contacted Charter’s Tech, and they tell us a crew is working on. In the meantime, you can watch today’s programming streaming live on line at http://www.wccatv.com .

Now might also be a good time to write that letter of support of WCCA TV, address it to WCCA at 415 Main St. Worcester, MA 01608 so we can be sure the City Council and City Manager receive it. Ask the City Manager to make assurances that WCCA TV will have the capacity to thrive for the next ten years, that everyone with cable and internet can view this community public access channel, and our funding for capital and operational expense can assure all the year round Educational workshops, youth media programs, community productions, and YOUR ABILITY TO ACCESS THIS PUBLIC ELECTRONIC FORUM will continue and grow seamlessly. WCCA TV 13 is YOUR STATION. TV BY, FOR, and OF, the PEOPLE.

Thanks for your understanding.

Mauro DePasquale, WCCA TV 13 “The People’s Channel”
