WCCA’s SOAPBOX, with host and Executive Director, Mauro DePasquale, is an outstanding program that empowers our community members by providing a powerful media outlet for community participation and inclusiveness. “SOAPBOX” is all new in June. The show will feature the Ecotarium; a discussion on jobs and the myths behind economic reports with Chris Horton; the Relay for Life in June; Girls Inc. summer opportunities, and Fathers Fest with Chris Nelson of Pernet Family Health Service. SOAPBOX can be seen Wednesdays at 8:30 pm, Saturdays at 10:30 pm, and Sundays at 6:30 pm exclusivity on WCCA TV, now on Channel 194. It also streams live online at the same times at www.wccatv.com . FUN PUBLIC ACCESS FACT: Did you know that comedian and actor, Louis CK, got his start in media as a technical director of a cable access station in Massachusetts? He was a volunteer intern from high school and learned how to use EVERY machine in the TV station. Louie CK says that his experience in public access TV was a huge training ground and great benefit.
