This Month at WCCA TV, The People’s Channel

Hello friends! Hope everyone is having a nice and safe holiday season!!

On Tuesday, December 1st, organizations from all over the world will join together for one big day of Giving! Since 2012, #GivingTuesday has brought together millions of people to support the work and services of thousands of non-profit organizations. #GivingTuesday offers a way to refocus the importance of giving during the holiday season. At WCCA TV we’ve made it easier than ever to give and you can do it RIGHT NOW!!
Simply text WCCATV to 243725 and follow a couple of prompts. It takes less than a minute to support programing designed to empower, enlighten and enrich all sectors of our diverse community. Speaking of charity: Kids will be be able to speak to SANTA via ZOOM, from the North Pole. Thanks to WCCA TV’s proud partnership project with the Worcester PLANTING THE SEED FOUNDATION to raise toys for the area’s needy children. Tune into Daily Breaking on November 30th for details or watch us “LIVE” on THURSDAY, December 10th from 5PM-7:30 PMfor WPTS’s SANTATHON. WCCA TV’s Special Presentations

The Daily Mass and the Sunday Masses, in Spanish and English, at St. Paul’s Cathedral in Worcester, are now being broadcast LIVE on WCCA TV. The Daily Mass airs Monday thru Friday at 9 am. The Sunday Mass in Spanish is at 8 am and in English at 10 am. They can be seen live on Worcester Cable Channel 194, streaming worldwide at wccatv.com, and on the Roku ‘Worcester TV’ Channel.

WCCA TV and UMASS MED’s Dr. Joseph Sabato & his students created a dramatic and educational CPR Instructional Video. Great for businesses and organizations to share!!

WCCA TV’s ‘Daily Breaking’ Editions

This edition of ‘Daily Breaking’ features Howard Steen, who will join the show via Zoom from Germany to provide perspectives and insights about COVID-19 in Germany and Europe, as well as the work of the German Corona Committee.

This edition of ‘Daily Breaking’ features Helen and Scott Holt, founders of Hope for Holty. They will discuss the change of plans for an annual fundraiser they organize to cover medical costs for Scott’s significant injuries while on duty as a firefighter. They will also talk about a food drive to benefit the Worcester County Food Bank.

This edition of ‘Daily Breaking’ features Dr. Luis G Pedraja, President of Quinsigamond Community College. He talks about the Fall enrollment, their response to the pandemic, and remote instruction.

This edition of ‘Daily Breaking’ features Cece Doucette, Technology Safety Educator and Director with Massachusetts for Safe Technology. She returns to the program with an update on the health and environmental impacts of today’s wireless technology and possible solutions.

This edition of ‘Daily Breaking’ features WCCA TV ‘s Executive Director, Mauro DePasquale, who explains how to participate and utilize the valuable free-speech platform that WCCA TV provides for our community.

This edition of ‘Daily Breaking’ features Rachel Goclawski, Foraging and Mushrooming instructor. She will discuss how foraging for wild foods, wild medicine and mushrooming have soared in popularity since the COVID-19 outbreak, while emphasizing ways to stay safe and avoid poisonous plants and mushrooms.

  • Tune in to all new episodes of Soapbox in December. Host and WCCA TV’s Executive Director, Mauro DePasquale, will feature Deborah S. Packard, Executive Director of Preservation Worcester, to discuss the Door to Door Holiday Tour throughout the month of December, including all Worcester neighborhoods, to celebrate the architecture, history, culture, and all that makes our city beautiful, interesting, and unique. The tour will evoke the holiday spirit in a way that is safe, fun, and educational. Mauro is also joined by Dr. Joseph Sabato, an attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Umass, to discuss COVID-19 and the importance of CPR Training.   • Tune in to Rosen’s Round Table – a political and current issue program hosted by City Councilor Gary Rosen and produced at WCCA TV. In this episode, Gary and his panel members discuss the MBTA plans to cut rail service in Worcester. What kind of impact will it have on the residents of Worcester? In another episode, the topic of discussion is Worcester’s new Commissioner of the Department of Public Works & Parks, Jay Fink. Exclusively on WCCA TV 194 in Worcester!
  • The Mayor’s Forum, hosted by Mayor Joe Petty, features local guests to discuss a wide range of topics that impact residents of Worcester and Central Massachusetts. The Mayor welcomes Tamara Lundi, the President of Community Healthlink. In another episode, the Mayor talks to Laura Lodi and Alex Arriaga, the Director of Veteran’s Services for the City of Worcester.
  • This is Worcester is a WCCA TV program hosted and produced by community activist Bill Coleman. In this episode, Bill talks with folks from the Friendly House and the A.M.E. Zion Church about the issue of food insecurity in Worcester.
  • Activate Worcester, hosted by Ron Motta, is a WCCA TV program that shows viewers how to participate and become active in Worcester. Ron chats Politics with returning guest Jay Givan, The Last Telegram Blogger. In another episode, Ron chats with his grandson Chris about Sports.
  • Time for a coffee break and another episode of Coffee with Konnie. Join former City Councilor Konnie Lukes and her guests as they discuss city issues at Worcester-area coffee shops. Konnie chats with Reverend Father Christopher Stamas in the Saint Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester.
  • Tune in to Health Matters – a program from the Worcester District Medical Society produced at WCCA TV. Host Dr. James Broadhurst welcomes Dr. Matilde Castiel and Dr. Robert Finberg to the show. The topic of discussion is the COVID-19 Vaccine Trial. Why are people hesitant to get the vaccine and why it’s important to get it; What is the difference between the vaccines that different manufacturers are working on; How should we roll out the vaccine for vulnerable communities, etc. You don’t want to miss this episode!   • Healthy Living is a WCCA TV program hosted by Dr. Donald Pelto of Worcester. Dr. Pelto interviews medical doctors and allied health individuals regarding important health-related issues such as losing weight, diabetes, etc. In this episode, Dr Pelto explains new treatments for ingrown toenails.
  • Welcome to a new episode of Human Touch – a WCCA TV program that spotlights refugees and their struggles. Host Augustine Kanjia welcomes The Krio Descendants Union of New England back to the show. The Krio Descendants Union is made up of the Krio people, and their efforts benefit the development of Sierra Leone. The topic of discussion is Ghana and the Western Togoland Rebellion.
  • WCCA TV’s independent, eclectic music-video show, Video Jam, with host Tracy Foley, will feature new music from Gigi Vega, Paris Bennett, Glorybots, Ashrr, Grey DeLisle, Tealand Smith, and For King & Country. Tune in on Fridays at 9 pm and Saturdays at 7 pm to WCCA TV, Channel 194 in Worcester. The show streams live at the same time worldwide at www.wccatv.com, where you can also download past shows.   • Tune in to a new episode of WCCA TV’s Senior Speak. Host of the program, Edith Morgan, will discuss how seniors are coping with the stress of the pandemic, local happenings, and more. Senior Speak airs on WCCA TV, Cable Channel 194 in Worcester, on Tuesdays at 12:30 pm and Wednesdays at 12 pm.
