Chandler Chat 474 National Women\'s Rights Convention 175th Anniversary

On this episode of the Chandler Chat, host Harriette Chandler welcomes Fredie Kay, Founder and President of the Massachusetts Women\'s History Center, Barbara Guertin and William Wallace, Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of the Museum of Worcester, respectively, to discuss the two-day 175th Anniversary of the first National Women\'s Rights Convention, taking place at Mechanics Hall on October 22nd and 23rd.

This historic 1850 conference took place right in Worcester with some thousand people in attendance, drawing support from the active temperance and abolitionist movements, in addition to women\'s suffrage. Speakers included Frederick Douglass, Lucy Stone, Abby Kelley Foster and Sojourner Truth in her first public speaking appearance!
