On this episode of the Chandler Chat, host Harriette Chandler speaks with Sandy Dunn, former General Manager of the DCU Center who recently retired after 43 years working at the Center, having joined in 1983 shortly after the Centrum (as it was then known) first opened in 1982. They speak on what drew her and her husband to Worcester in the early 80s, and what changes we've seen in the intervening years. They discuss everything that goes into managing a major venue like the DCU center, with a full-time staff of 48 and over 300 part-time employees, and the importance of celebrating the achievements of women in her field, where sports arena management especially is still overwhelmingly male-dominated.
