On this episode of the Chandler Chat, host Harriette Chandler speaks with returning guest John Westerling, Commissioner of the Worcester Department of Public Works. They discuss the inner workings of the DPW, which employs around 370 people, and outline some of the projects that the department is managing, from the construction of roadways, to maintaining 100+ year-old sewer and water mains, to the multi-department "Keep Worcester Clean" initiative. Finally, they discuss how the Department is seeking to fill some 50 vacancies across it's divisions, and how those seeking employment can get involved.
