Connecting the Dots 161: Shakespeare Through a Disability Lens

Connecting the Dots is a non-traditional legal program that highlights the attorney as a trusted advisor with an interdisciplinary approach to solving life’s issues. Hosted by attorney Liz Myska, this episode features two guests: Barbara Guertin, Managing Director of 4th Wall Stage Company, and Michelle Koza, an independent writer, who discuss 4th Wall’s production of Shakespeare Through a Disability Lens at the Museum of Worcester on Elm Street in Worcester, Massachusetts. Familiar echoes from Richard III and The Tempest appear alongside the ferocity of Julius Caesar and Titus Andronicus, inviting audiences to confront the ways Shakespeare renders both the vulnerability and resilience of disabled bodies. Created in partnership with actors and technicians with disabilities — visible and invisible — the production reflects the insight and lived experience that shape every facet of the work.
