Human Touch 59

On this episode of Human Touch, Augustine Kanjia speaks about the long term psychological effects of trauma caused by the often violent forced displacement and relocation that refugees face. On top of the natural friction adjusting to a new society and learning cultural norms, these lingering traumas can heighten a refugees sense of alienation and isolation in their new home. It is essential that communities that offer asylum continue to engage with the refugee community and offer mental health services to help individuals adapt and thrive in their new home.
