On this very special episode of the Senior Speak, we join the June 11th celebration of the 25th Anniversary of the Worcester Senior Center! Developed in the '90s and opened in June of 2000, Worcester's first and only full-service Senior Center has grown to meet the needs of the city's older population, which now numbers close to 40,000.
Speakers showing their appreciation for the center, it's staff and volunteers, and all of Worcester's seniors include Mayor Joe Petty, City Councilor George Russell, State Senator Michael Moore, State Rep Dan Donahue, City Manager Eric Batista, District Attorney Joseph Early, Jr., Sheriff Lew Evangelidis, MA Secretary of Aging & Independence Robin Lipson, Executive Director of the MA Councils on Aging Elizabeth Connell and President of the Friends of the Worcester Senior Center Gary Rosen.
Honorees include Director Amy Vogel Waters, Operations Director Patricia Hainsworth and Program Coordinator Suki Lapin.
