On this episode of the Senior Speak, Edith Morgan welcomes Linda Wincek-Moore, Manager of Senior Services at the Worcester Senior Center, and three 3rd-year students from UMass Chan Medical School to discuss fall risk and prevention for older adults. They discuss some of the everyday fall hazards that seniors living at home should be aware of, and outline some of the best practices to declutter a living space before an accident occurs. They also demonstrate some quick exercises to do at home that can help in strengthening and maintaining the bodies' balance, and finally outline emergency plans that seniors should be prepared for if an accident occurs when they are at home alone.
