Soapbox, hosted by WCCA TV Executive Director Mauro DePasquale, features discussions on important community initiatives. In this episode, Mauro interviews Eduardo Rivas, Professor of Accounting at Quinsigamond Community College and VITA Program Coordinator at Main South CDC, along with William Souza and Rebecca Aime, business students at QCC. They discuss the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, an IRS initiative that provides free tax preparation for eligible individuals, including low- to moderate-income earners, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English speakers. The program operates at multiple Worcester locations and offers both in-person and remote services, while also providing QCC students with valuable academic and professional experience. Appointments are available through April 11, 2026, by contacting Main South CDC at (508) 752-6181, emailing vita.qcc@gmail.com, or visiting www.getyourrefund.org/MSCDC.
