2017 International Women’s Day in Worcester

On March 7, 2017, the YWCA of Central Massachusetts, with keynote speaker, Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey, celebrated an International Women’s Day event at the YWCA building at 1 Salem Square.  International Women’s Day is a worldwide event celebrating the achievements of women while calling for greater equality.  In addition to Healey’s speech, WCCA TV volunteer Cynthia LaPan interviewed the Attorney General as well as the following organizers or participants:  Joyce McNickles, Social Justice and Diversity Educator; Maritza Cruz, Director of Racial & Gender Equity at the YWCA of Central Massachusetts;  Debbie Hall, YWCA Board Member; Nerissa Harper-Ketter, YWCA Board Member; Chris Robarge, Central Massachusetts Field Coordinator of the ACLU; and Rosemary Naughton, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at Worcester State University.
