The WORCESTER IS AMERICA! Exhibit is a history of Armenian immigration to America with the focus on the City of Worcester. The M.C is Hovig Charchafalian, the guests are Peter Wayne Nalbandian and Harry Manoogian, both members of the Knights Of Vartan, the sponsor of the WORCESTER IS AMERICA! Exhibit at the Worcester Public Library for the month of April. The exhibit and two Special Events are the subjects of the interview. The first Special Event is Tuesday, April 4, 6:00PM, in the Saxe Room featuring a City Proclamation from Mayor Petty, State Citations presented by Representative David K. Muradian Jr., presentation of books and videos on Armenian history and culture to Head Librarian Geoffrey Dickinson for the library's Knights Of Vartan Collection, and a lecture by Peter Wayne Nalbandian, "The Right To Be Americans: The Case of United States vs Cartozian." The second Special Event is on Sunday, April 9, 3:00PM in the Saxe Room featuring two videos: The History of the Apkarian Family of Worcester and a lecture by the late Dr. H. Martin Deranian on the Armenian Orphan Rug which was given to President Calvin Coolidge in 1925 in appreciation for the aid and support given by the United States to the survivors of the Armenian Genocide.
