A WCCA special presentation.
Imagine Worcester and the World Producer Virginia Swain interviews the
Voices of Worcester Women authors, Maureen Ryan Doyle and Charlene L Martin,
Ed.D, Linda Rosenlund, Founder of the Worceter Women' Oral History Project,
and Heather-Lynn Haley, Ph.d, President of the Worcester Women's History
Project as part of a launch event for the new book. Virginia is one of the
women to have an excerpt from her oral history in the book. The book will
allow readers to share a glimpse into the lives of today's Worcester women
and to learn a bit about their achievements and their struggles 160 years
after the First National Woman's Rights Convention. After researching the
stories of 250 women from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic and religious
backgrounds, 69 excerpts from the original transcripts were chosen for
acceptance into this book. December 6 is the first for the first public
program that featured readings from Voices of Worcester Women. This event
took place at the Worcester Public Library, 3 Salem Square, at 5:30 pm on
December 6. visit http://voicesofworcesterwomen.blogspot.com/ and
