On this new series from WCCA TV, host Deacon Walter Doyle introduces us to Streetlights, where he shares moving and true stories from his 46 years as co-director of the Urban Missionaries of Our Lady of Hope, helping "the least, the last and the left-out." While these stories may be about everyday people, some who need just a little help and some who are in dire straights, all these stories spark reflection and compassion, and hopefully move you to perform "reckless acts of caring" in your own life!
In this third episode Walter speaks on working with Jordanian refugee families helping to overcome culture shock and discrimination in the states, but also learning to allow them their own autonomy. Then he speaks on working with the "Young Neighbors in Action", a Catholic mission for high-schoolers giving back to their communities, and recalls witnessing anti-black racism and injustices from his youth here in Massachusetts.
