On this new program from WCCA TV studios, YAY ART with Two Bridges Art Academy showcases the talents of local visual artists, delving into what drives their art, their methods, and hopefully inspires the artist in you to follow and cultivate your own artistic passions.
On this eighth episode, the second in a two-part series, host Scott Nelson, co-founder of Two Bridges Art Academy, speaks to Tony Freitas, an artist working in different mediums, from airbrushed carved foam to fashion and commercial signs. They speak on making a living as a freelance artist and the discipline required to self-promote one's craft while meeting commissioned deadlines. Then, in the second half of the program, Scott demonstrates some of the techniques discussed, prepping and working on unconventional canvases and capturing a celebrity's likeness in caricature.
